About Us

The Chattahoochee Hills Historical Society was formed on March 15, 2008 under the city's community volunteer initiative. Our elected officers are Sandra Huffmaster, chair; and Paula Anderson, co-chair.

As of 2011, our historical society is inactive. While we no longer currently hold regular meetings, a few members still actively work on historical projects, and we also are available to help answer your historical questions. We look forward to reviving our historical society at some time in the future.

About Chattahoochee Hills

Chattahoochee Hills is located in Fulton County, Georgia, USA. It was incorporated on June 19, 2007, after a year-long effort led by community activists to pass the referendum. Senate Bill 553 is the city charter that incorporates the city of Chattahoochee Hill Country.

The city is comprised of five historic crossroad communities formed in the 1800s: Rivertown, Rico, County Line / Redwine, Goodes, and Friendship. It also has several newer communities ranging in size from several homes to a hamlet: Little Fawn, Rico Lake, River Lake, and the Serenbe Hamlet.

The city of Chattahoochee Hill Country is referred to by many names: Chattahoochee Hills, Chatt Hills, and the Hill Country. The Historical Society chose Chattahoochee Hills so its acronym CHHA would not be confused with other local associations.
